When Kaecilius led a splinter group away from the ancient order, they stole pages from the Book of Cagliostro in the Library of Kamar-Taj and escape through the gate to the London Sanctum. Master Sol Rama acted as the last master and guardian of the London Sanctum. It had a fixed dimensional portal connecting it to Kamar-Taj in Nepal and a more conventional entrance on a busy street in the heart of London. Along with the New York Sanctum and the Hong Kong Sanctum, the London Sanctum acted as a planet-wide mystical defensive ward and as a base from which the Masters of the Mystic Arts conducted their activities. The London Sanctum was one of three Sanctums created by Agamotto and maintained by the Masters of the Mystic Arts.
